OSForensics Error Messages

Problem

Error messages during the indexation:
«ZoomEngine has stopped working»
«The core engine does not appear to be responding.»
«No files found to index, index not added to case»

(Possible) Solution

Before the indexation, if you load a disk image with the program OSFMount, disable the option «Read-only drive».

Note

With the option «Read-only drive» disabled, it’s possible that the data of the disk image gets altered during the indexation or the later analysis. Therefore, it’s recommended to create a backup copy beforehand.
