Luani i Kepit Rajonal ishte një popullatë e Panthera leo melanochaita^[2] në provincën e Kepit të Shpresës së Mirë të Afrikës Jugore i cili është zhdukur që në mesin e shekullit të 19-të.^[3]^[4]

Analizat filogjeografike treguan se pupullatat e luanit në Afrikën Jugore dhe Lindore janë gjenetikisht të afërta.^[5]^[6] Në 2017, Forca e klasifikimit të BNRN-së grupoi popullatat e luanit të Afrikës Jugore nën trinomenin P. l. melanochaita.^[7]
