National Basketball Association (shk. NBA) është një ligë profesionale e basketbollit nga ShBA, dhe më e popullarizuara në botë. NBA u themelua në New York City, SHBA më 6 qershor 1946 si Basketball Association of America (shkurt: BAA), (shqip: Shoqata Basketbollistike e Amerikës). Kjo ligë e mori emrine National Basketball Association në vjeshtë të vitit 1949 pas bashkimit me ligën konkurente National Basketball League. Zyrat lokale dhe ndërkombëtare të ligës janë të vendosura në New York City. Kurse NBA Entertainment dhe NBA TV studiot udhëhiqen jasht zyrave dhe janë të vendosura në Secaucus, New Jersey.
