Sylë Tahirsylaj

Sylë Tahirsylaj (15 gusht 1949, Isniq, Deçan - 16 qershor 2024, Prishtinë)^[1] ishte një fizikan, meteorolog dhe profesor universitar nga Isniqi i Deçanit, Kosovë.^[2]

Sylë Tahirsylaj lindi në fshatin Isniq, ku kreu shkollën fillore, ndërsa Shkollën e Mesme Teknike, drejtimin e makinerisë, e kreu në Prishtinë (1968). Studimet për fizikë i kreu në Fakultetin e Shkencave Matematike-Natyrore (FSHMN) të Universitetit të Prishtinës (UP) në vitin 1977. Studimet pasuniversitare i filloi në Fakultetin e Fizikës Teknike të Universitetit të Beogradit, por i përfundoi për fizikë në Fakultetin e Shkencave të Natyrës në Universitetin e Tiranës në vitin 1993. Tezën e doktoratës e mbrojti në të njëjtin universitet, nga fusha e fizikës së atmosferës - meteorologjisë (1996). U zgjodh docent në Fakultetin e Bujqësisë të UP-së (1997). Ka qenë drejtor i Institutit Hidrometeorologjik të Kosovës (1999-2013), si dhe përfaqësuesi i parë nga Kosova në Organizatën Botërore të Meteorologjisë (WMO).

Ishte autor dhe bashkautor i disa punimeve shkencore të botuara brenda dhe jashtë vendit.^[3]
