Aquatics at the 1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games made its sixth appearance at the Commonwealth Games, with both Swimming at the Commonwealth Games and Diving at the Commonwealth Games being included again.[1]

There were four diving events and 15 swimming events contested.[2][3]

The Empire Pool had been specifically built for the Games and opened on 18 April 1958. It cost £650,000 to build and had space for 1772 spectators.[4][5]

Australia topped the medal table with seven gold medals.[6]
