Composition et enregistrement

Le groupe enregistre et mixe l'album en trois jours avec l'ingénieur du son Tom Soares au Normandy Sound de Warren, dans le Rhode Island. Blood, Sweat, and No Tears est un album de punk hardcore marqué par un puissant jeu de guitare et des paroles à connotation sociopolitique[1],[2]. KS-One fait une apparition sur l'album ; le futur bassiste de Sick of It All, Craig Setari, participe également à l'enregistrement et contribue aux paroles de « Bullshit Justice » et « The Blood and the Sweat ».

L'album sort le sur le label In-Effect Records, propriété de Relativity Records. Sick of It All fait la promotion de Blood, Sweat, and No Tears lors de tournées aux États-Unis avec Bad Brains, Leeway, DRI et Agnostic Front, et sort le clip d'« Injustice System ».

Réception et héritage

Succès surprise, Blood, Sweat, and No Tears se vendu à plus de 100 000 exemplaires. Il est considéré comme un album hardcore new-yorkais emblématique[1]. Pourtant, le chanteur Lou Koller le considère comme inaudible, et critique la qualité d'interprétation du groupe. Après avoir initialement prévu de réenregistrer l'album dans son intégralité, Sick of It All réenregistre plusieurs de ses chansons pour son dixième album, XXV Nonstop (2011).
