La dihydroorotase est une hydrolase qui catalyse la réaction :
Cette enzyme intervient dans la biosynthèse des pyrimidines[2]. Chez l'humain, elle fait partie d'un complexe enzymatique multifonctionnel (protéine CAD) avec la synthétase II de carbamyl-phosphate et la carbamyltransférase d'aspartate [1].
