Colonisation de l’Afrique par l’empire d'Oman


La guerre omano-zanzibarienne (حرب عمان - زنجبار; Vita vya Oman-Zanzibar) est un conflit qui a opposé l’empire d'Oman et Zanzibar en 1784[1]. Il fait suite à un précédent conflit, en 1779. Zanzibar, colonie omanaise, se révolte, avec le soutien de forces africaines venues de Mombasa et de Pemba[2]. Hilal bin Ahmad, fils aîné du sultan Ahmed ibn Saïd, envoie une expédition. Cette force reprend l’île après une courte guerre[2].
