Le Codex 049 (Gregory-Aland), α 2 (Soden), est un manuscrit sur parchemin en écriture grecque onciale.

Description

Le codex, qui se compose de 149 folios de 27,5 x 18,5 cm[1],[2], est conservé au monastère de la Grande Laure (A' 88) du Mont Athos[3],[4]. Il contient 30 lignes d'écriture par page, sur une seule colonne.

Le texte du codex est de type byzantin, et Kurt Aland le classe en catégorie V[5]. Les paléographes datent unanimement ce manuscrit du IXe siècle[5].

Ce codex contient des textes des Actes des Apôtres, des Épîtres catholiques et des Épîtres de Paul, mais avec de nombreuses lacunes. Il contient entre autres les épîtres suivantes : Romains; 1 Cor 1,1-5,8; 13,8-16,24; 2 Cor 1,1-11,23; Eph 4,20-6,20[6] [pas clair].
