Ram Behari Arora (1917–1997) est un pharmacologue indien, un universitaire en médecine et le directeur fondateur du département de pharmacologie du Sawai ManSingh Medical College, la première faculté de médecine de l'État indien du Rajasthan[1],[2]. Il est l'un des membres fondateurs de l'Académie nationale des sciences médicales[3],[4].

Carrière

Né le , Arora est connu pour ses contributions au domaine de la pharmacothérapie cardiovasculaire[5]. Il fait des recherches sur la médecine traditionnelle indienne et publie plusieurs articles médicaux sur le sujet[6],[7],[8]. Le Conseil de la recherche scientifique et industrielle, l'agence suprême du gouvernement indien pour la recherche scientifique, lui décerne le Prix Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar de sciences et technologie, l'une des plus hautes distinctions scientifiques indiennes pour ses contributions aux sciences médicales en 1961[9], faisant de lui le premier médecin à recevoir cet honneur[10],[11].
