La 6. Flak-Division fu una divisione antiaerea della Luftwaffe, attiva durante la seconda guerra mondiale. Fu impiegata nella difesa aerea di Bruxelles e sul fronte orientale, dove fu distrutta nella sacca di Curlandia.
Storia
Formazione
La divisione fu costituita a Stettino il 1º agosto 1938, come Luftverteidigungskommando Stettin (Comando di Difesa Aerea di Stettino). Il 1º luglio 1939, il comando fu trasferito ad Hannover e rinominato Luftverteidigungskommando Hannover (Comando di Difesa Aerea di Hannover).[1][2]
Difesa aerea sul fronte occidentale
Il 1º settembre 1939, fu rinominato Luftverteidigungskommando 6 (Comando di Difesa Aerea 6) e dopo la fine della Campagna di Francia, fu trasferito prima a Bruxelles e poi a Waterloo. Poco prima dell'inizio dell'operazione Barbarossa fu temporaneamente trasferito in Alta Slesia per proteggere la regione industriale. Successivamente il comando tornò in Belgio ed il 1º settembre 1941, fu rinominato 6. FlaK-Division.[1][2][3][4]
Fronte orientale
Il 1º aprile 1942, la divisione venne trasferita sul fronte orientale, presso la Luftflotte 1 e fu sostituita a Bruxelles dalla 16. FlaK-Division. La divisione fu schierata con l'Heeresgruppe Nord, vicino a Medved e nella sacca di Demyansk. Dopo le battaglie di ritirata dell'Heeresgruppe Nord, la divisione finì nella sacca di Curlandia, dove fu distrutta nei pressi di Libau.[3][4]
