Clash in Italy è stato un premium live event prodotto dalla WWE.[2] L'evento si è svolto il 31 maggio 2026 alla Inalpi Arena di Torino, ed è stato trasmesso su ESPN negli Stati Uniti e su Netflix nel resto del mondo.[3]

Il 17 settembre 2025, il presidente della WWE Nick Khan annunciò che la compagnia avrebbe ospitato il suo primo premium live event in Italia nel 2026[4] e il 17 febbraio 2026, la WWE annunciò che Clash in Italy e la successiva puntata di Raw si sarebbero tenuti domenica 31 maggio e lunedì 1° giugno 2026, all'Inalpi Arena di Torino.[5] Inoltre, anche la puntata di SmackDown del 5 giugno viene svolta in territorio italiano, alla Unipol Arena di Bologna.[6]

Storyline

L'Inalpi Arena di Torino, sede dell'evento

Nella puntata del 30 marzo di Raw, Gunther, salvò Paul Heyman dall'attacco di Seth Rollins e dopo ciò, il Ring Geneal disse a Heyman che gli doveva un favore.[7] Il 1° maggio a SmackDown cambiò obiettivo e attaccò il campione WWE Cody Rhodes, attaccandolo dopo il suo match, facendo intendere di puntare al suo titolo.[8] La settimana successiva, Gunther, insieme a Heyman, era in procinto di firmare il contratto per il passaggio a SmackDown e un secondo contratto per un match titolato contro Rhodes a Clash in Italy (svelando che era questo il favore chiesto a Heyman). Nel corso della serata, Heyman diede il contratto a Rhodes e disse che se avesse voluto il nome di Gunther nel contratto, avrebbe dovuto ottenere da solo la firma del suo avversario.[9] Il 15 maggio, Rhodes cercò di convincere Gunther a firmare il contratto, ma quest'ultimo temporeggiò. Poco dopo arrivò Royce Keys e disse che se Gunther non voleva firmare il contratto, lo avrebbe fatto lui. In seguito alla discussione tra i due, il general manager Nick Aldis sancì un match tra Gunther e Keys con in palio il match contro il campione, vinto poi da Gunther.[10]

A Backlash, Roman Reigns mantenne il World Heavyweight Championship contro Jacob Fatu e al termine del match, quest'ultimo attaccò Reigns, i vari dirigenti giunti a dividerli e il general manager Adam Pearce.[11] Nel succesivo episodio di Raw, Pearce voleva licenziare Fatu, tuttavia, Reigns non glielo permise, affermando che Fatu avrebbe dovuto riconoscerlo come suo capo tribù. Nonostante l'avvertimento dei cugini Jimmy e Jey Uso di non affrontare Reings, Fatu attaccò entrambi i gemelli Usos e in seguito scatenò una rissa con Reigns, che si concluse con Fatu in piedi contro tutti loro.[12] La settimana successiva, Fatu mise KO Jimmy e Jey Uso, ma in seguito all'intervento di Reigns, fu Fatu a finire al tappeto. Poco dopo si presentò Adam Pearce che stava per licenziare il Samoan Werewolf, ma quest'ultimo sfidò il campione ad una Tribal Combat, match che fu ufficializzato poco dopo per Clash in Italy.[13]
