Trying Not to Think About It è il sesto album in studio della cantante statunitense JoJo, pubblicato il 1º ottobre 2021 dalla Warner Records.[1][2][3]
Descrizione
Realizzato durante la pandemia di COVID-19, l'album ingloba i sentimenti negativi e l'ansia legata a quel periodo all'interno delle tracce contenute in esso, affrontando però anche tematiche legate al distacco da pensieri negativi e a un percorso di trasformazione personale.[4] L'artista ha dichiarato che ogni suo progetto discografico è accompagnato da una fase di perdita seguita da una rinnovata scoperta di sé, che non coincide mai con quella precedente ma segna un ulteriore livello di evoluzione artistica.[4]
Parlando dell'album, JoJo si è così espressa:[5]
Dall'album sono stati estratti i singoli Worst (I Assume),[6] pubblicato nel mese di agosto, e Anxiety (Burlinda's Theme), pubblicato a ottobre.
Promozione
La cantante ha promosso il disco con un tour di sei date negli Stati Uniti partito nel mese di ottobre 2021, il Trying Not to Think About It Tour.[7] Il disco è stato inoltre pubblicizzato attraverso una tournée partita il 24 febbraio 2022 e terminata il 30 maggio dello stesso anno, che ha visto l'artista esibirsi in America del Nord ed Europa in oltre quaranta tappe.[8]
