Troy Garity (Los Angeles, 7 de julho de 1973) é um ator estadunidense.[1][2]
Biografia
Troy Garity nasceu em Los Angeles na Califórnia. Ele cresceu em Santa Mônica.[3] É filho da atriz Jane Fonda e do ativista político Tom Hayden. Sua meia-irmã é a diretora e cinegrafista Vanessa Vadim. Seus pais lhe deram o sobrenome Garity, de sua avó paterna. Por parte de mãe, Garity é neto da socialite nova-iorquina Frances Ford Seymour e do ator Henry Fonda. [4]
Garity participou de inúmeras produções cinematográficas. Fez sua primeira aparição na tela ainda bebê, com os seus pais durante as filmagens de seu documentário de viagem sobre o Vietnã, Introduction to the Enemy (1974). Em 2000, ele interpretou seu pai no filme Steal This Movie. Por sua atuação no filme Soldier's Girl (2003), Garity recebeu uma indicação ao Globo de Ouro de Melhor Ator em Minissérie ou Filme para Televisão.[5]
Ele estudou na Academia Americana de Artes Dramáticas. Ele também tornou-se membro da Academia Repertory Company, atuando em uma série de produções teatrais.[4] Em agosto de 2007, Garity casou-se com a modelo Simone Bent. Hoje, ele é o fundador da Rede do Processo de Paz, uma coalizão internacional de prevenção da violência de gangues, e é o presidente da Homies Unidos ("homies united"), um grupo de prevenção da violência de gangues em Los Angeles.[6]
