Hemidactylus, del griego clásico ἡμι- (hēmi-), "mitad", y δάκτυλος (dáktulos), "dedo", es un género de gecos de la familia Gekkonidae y es el segundo más numeroso en ella.[1] Están distribuidos por las zonas tropicales o subtropicales del sur de Europa, África, Asia, Oceanía y Sudamérica.
