Bulaida Tehsil (Urdu: بلیدہ تحصیل), also spelled Buleda, is an administrative subdivision (tehsil) of Kech District in the Makran Division of Balochistan.[2] The tehsil is located in the northern part of the district, bordering Panjgur District to the north and the Zamuran Hills near the Iran–Pakistan border.
Geography
Bulaida is situated in a valley between the central Makran Range and the Zamuran Hills. It covers an area of approximately 1,997 square kilometres (771 sq mi). The landscape is known for its extensive date palm groves and traditional irrigation systems (karez). The climate is arid, with extremely hot summers and mild winters.[3]
Demographics
According to the 2023 Census of Pakistan, Bulaida Tehsil has a total population of 107,847. This represents a significant increase from the 2017 census population of 77,148. The primary language spoken is Balochi, and the population is predominantly Sunni Muslim.[1]
Administration
The tehsil is a primary administrative unit under the Kech District administration. It is divided into several Union Councils, which include:[4]

Economy
The economy is largely based on agriculture and cross-border trade. Bulaida is famous for producing high-quality dates, particularly the Mozati variety. Livestock rearing and small-scale trading are also major sources of income for the local population.[5]
