Blackpool South ist ein Wahlkreis (englischconstituency) in der Grafschaft Lancashire im Nordwesten Englands, der einen Abgeordneten ins britische Unterhaus (House of Commons) entsendet. Er besteht seit 1945 und umfasst die zentralen und südlichen Teile der Küstenstadt Blackpool.
Geschichte
Die Boundary Commission for England schuf den Wahlkreis im Hinblick auf die Unterhauswahl 1945. Er entstand durch die Aufteilung des Wahlkreises Blackpool; das Gegenstück bildet der Wahlkreis Blackpool North. 1950, 1983, 1997, 2010 und 2024 kam es im Rahmen periodischer Überprüfungen zu verschiedenen Grenzverschiebungen.

Erster Abgeordneter war Roland Robinson von der Conservative Party, der den Sitz mehrmals verteidigen konnte. Nachfolger für dieselbe Partei wurde 1964 Peter Blaker, der das Amt fast dreißig Jahre innehatte. 1992 verzichtete er auf eine erneute Kandidatur, sein Nachfolger trat Nick Hawkins an. Erstmals zu einem Parteienwechsel kam es 1997, als Gordon Marsden das Mandat für die Labour Party erringen konnte. 2019 wurde er vom Konservativen Scott Benton bezwungen. Nachdem diesem unzulässiger Lobbyismus nachgewiesen werden konnte, wurde er im April 2023 aus der konservativen Fraktion ausgeschlossen. Er gab sein Mandat im Frühjahr 2024 zurück, weshalb am 2. Mai eine Nachwahl stattfand[8], die Chris Webb von Labour für sich entschied.[9]
