The Time of the Oath è il settimo album in studio del gruppo musicale tedesco Helloween, pubblicato nel 1996. È un concept album che si basa sulle profezie di Nostradamus.
L'album è stato dedicato a Ingo Schwichtenberg, batterista del gruppo fino a Chameleon, suicidatosi buttandosi sotto un treno della metropolitana nel 1995.
Descrizione
Secondo Andi Deris, l'album è incentrato sulle profezie di Nostradamus riguardanti gli anni che vanno dal 1994 al 2000, predicendo una terza guerra mondiale seguita da un millennio di pace. Le canzoni presenti si prefiggono di riflettere le scelte dell'umanità. Il "Custode" (The Keeper) che appare in questo album può rappresentare Dio o la stupidità umana sotto forma del settimo soldato nella traccia Before the War.[2] Invece di uno sfondo spaziale come sulla copertina di Keeper of the Seven Keys - Part I, l'area sotto il cappuccio del Custode è piena di stelle e anelli dorati come nell'artwork di Master of the Rings.
